Last night we had a barbecue for the TONIBUNG interns and EWB Junior Fellows who will be leaving later this week. Just like back in the UK, as soon as the coals were lit, the rain started to come down.
This was the view of the weather from my bedroom but it definitely doesn't make it look like it was raining as much as it was. It also seems like it's barely stopped in the last 24 hours! |
A little bit (or a lot) of rain is no problem here - there's room for barbecuing in the big open space under the longhouse building.
How many men does it take to man a barbecue? |
We ended up with an impressive spread of food which provided good fuel for the dancing which started up later in the evening.
A good spread of food from seeds to sambal, but all served with rice and not a burger in sight! |
This fish was successfully eaten (eyes and all) using only a spoon (and some fingers) |
Although everyone could clearly bust a few moves, there was definitely a bit of hesitation when Ben suggested trying a traditional Scottish dance. Having said that, once he did manage to drag them back up onto the dance floor, the TONIBUNG team demonstrated impressively enthusiastic and energetic waltzing! |
